When You Lie...Whose Feelings Are You Trying Save?
by new boy ini never lied so much as when i was a jehovah's witness.
it started at bethel, when a bethel overseer asked me to agree with his opinion, when i knew it wasn't right....."fear of man"...funny term "fear of man.
" it seems the only time i really had it, is when i was afraid of the "men" in "god's organization.".

I never lied so much as when I was a Jehovah's Witness.
It started at Bethel, when a Bethel Overseer asked me to agree with his opinion, when I knew it wasn't right....."fear of man"...funny term "fear of man." It seems the only time I really had it, is when I was afraid of the "men" in "God's organization."
You have their "party line." Opinions outside of that are not excepted. Your friends, Your JW wife, Your JW family...They all want you to repeat the "party Line."
They want you to raise your hand at the Watchtower study...and answer. They want you to shuffle the words around and speak the party line back to them...they want you to repeat their words. The last thing they really want to hear....is your different ideas!
So you read a book, your not supposed to be reading...Or go to a "R" rated movie, Or you, God forbid, question some new light.
They take you in the back room and ask you what you "really" believe in. Unless you start dancing your about to lose your wife, kids, friends and family....So my friends the lies begin. You just loss some of your soul.
To save your friends and family's feelings you sacrifice yours...and why? You say you don't want to put them through the pain and hurt of them knowing how you really feel. So you lie and bury your truth.
Years, later I found out it was MY feelings I was protecting. I was afraid of their disapproval. I had "fear of man." I lied and hated them for it...The biggest lie there is?....The one to yourself. If your willing to lie to save yourself (or your feelings) you have loss the most important thing there is, your own integrity.
After leaving I made a vow to myself, not to lie...no matter what the consequences. It has cost me many times. in money and relationships. It has not been easy...somethimes I have failed.
But if you can't live in your own truth whose truth and you live in?
Your thoughts please.

YOUR DAILY JOURNAL
by compound complex indear friends,.
much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

A man is as much responsible for the evil he does....as the evil he LETS happen.
The most powerful pray a man can make is "God take me were I need to go"
Not were "I want to go"

My Bethel Experience part 8
by new boy inwell it is 4:00 a.m. in the morning and i can't sleep, so might has well write.. everything at bethel is seniority........"how long have you been here?
" if you wanted a better room you need some seniority, rooms would go up on a bid system.
if you were a new boy, and all your friends were new boys, it could be a year or two before you got a decent room and 10 years to get a room with its own bathroom, pre towers days.

My exbrother inlaw lives in Mississippi he said "The good thing about Mississippi is you don't ever have to worry about a recession...because it like that all the time here"...(poorest standard of living in the united states)
I lived in Northern Louisana for two years (bible belt)....I liked what George Carlan said about "the deep south"..."I love going to the south it like going back in time 200 years"
Of course if your rich you can live anywhere and it will be fine, even Mississippi.
I'm sorry my friend, I'm sure this was not what you were looking for....but come on...Mississippi?

Well most us worked hard there. We took pride in our work...A few didn't they were called a "Jack" or a "Fake Out"...they got so much shit from the rest of us, they pick up the pace or got a job change, The overseers would move you to a job were you couldn't fake out on, say a bindry line or a sewing machine. It was like the rowers in the movie "Ben Hur" you were chained to machine.
Has for Doctors When I got there we had the good Doc Dixon. In fact I set on his table. If you read the rest of my Bethel series I talk about him.
